Remember when movie night didn't involve an endless scroll of lackluster options for "content" on streaming platforms? Or the time before texting, FOMO-fueled screen-light, and all-too-often disregarded requests to "Please silence your cellphones now" at cinemas?
Welcome to The Analog Oasis, where we invite you to take a break from streaming, news feeds, social media, AI, and the infinite-scroll desert of distractions inherent to our hyper-digitized everyday lives. This project is a series of small pop-up film screenings and other curated experiences centering around offline engagement with film, friends, art and culture in an intentionally disconnected format.
We partner with local businesses, artists and venues in unexpected places to tailor collaborative programming, intimate in-person gatherings, and one-of-a-kind presentations. Join our mailing list to be notified of upcoming events.

Next Event
Join us October 24 + 25 for a haunted Halloween soirée and exclusive two-night showing of The ‘Burbs (1989), directed by Joe Dante.
This event will be our second collaboration with Hotel Hardware, a restored boutique hotel that’s been a home for stories and ghosts since 1890. Padraic will be serving up a custom cocktail menu in The Bobcat Room, along with special guest cuisine available throughout the evening.
Doors open at 5. Show starts at 6, with afterparty following. Tickets are $15 and will be available to purchase online Saturday, 10/4 at 9am. Seats are limited to 40 for each night’s showing. The bar, food and parking lot party is open to the public. 21+
Costumes encouraged! (…And possibly rewarded 👻)

As 2025 marks 10 years beneath the banner of Ghost Village Films, we thought it only appropriate to make this Halloween our re-birthday party as well. Artifacts, films and photos both retrospective and forward-looking will be on display. Parking lot festivities will be hosted by The Sea Turtle, our newly remodeled mobile production studio (…i.e., the filmmaking pirate ship 🏴☠️). This project has been years in the making, and represents the new direction of Ghost Village heading into 2026. Guests can get a sneak peek into our secret plans and help us officially christen the Turtle before she sets sail in the new year.
Previous Event
Our inaugural Analog Oasis was held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 in Dayton, WA with a rooftop screening of Stand By Me, presented in collaboration with Hotel Hardware.
We had a red carpet photo op station where arriving guests could get a Polaroid in front of the hotel's 60ft Stand By Me mural. Before the film, guests enjoyed New Mexican street cuisine from Cocina Barelas out of Seattle, and garden-to-bar craft cocktail pairings from the hotel's own Bobcat Room.
As with all our events, we created a phone-free environment for the screening. A phone check was provided at the door, where guests also received their uniquely numbered, hand-printed movie ticket.
These tickets were made using 19th century moveable-type equipment and methods by our talented friend at The Pressroom in Waitsburg. (Who also happened to win the highly coveted raffle prize later in the night! A most fitting conclusion.)

Tickets for this event were limited to 35 seats at the 1986 price of $5. We sold out within hours of release. Many guests chose to contribute beyond the base ticket price, and we received exceptionally positive feedback after the show (thank you!).
Given the level of interest we saw for this first go at it, we're planning to expand access to future events while still adhering to the small-gathering, intimate format.

In addition to the feature, we screened two short films from local independent filmmakers during our pre-show presentation: Not Invincible, directed by Tyson Kaup and How to Love and be Loved, directed by Ned Rodat. These films were curated for the event by The Movie Crush, held annually in Walla Walla, WA.
